|
1. |
Turn off
system.
|
|
2. |
Disconnect
air
supply
to
sampler.
|
|
3. |
Use a
5/16"
nut
driver
to
remove
bolts
around
the
perimeter
of the
cover.
|
|
4. |
DO
NOT PUT
PRESSURE
ON WEIGH
PLATE!
LOAD
CELL IS
VERY
SENSITIVE!
|
|
5. |
Using a
7/16"
wrench
or
socket
to
remove
the 2
lower
load
cell
bolts
which
exit
from the
bottom
of the
sampler
unit.
|
|
6. |
Remove
the
lower
load
cell
spacer.
|
|
7. |
VERY
IMPORTANT!!!
SECURE
THE
WEIGH
PLATE
WITH THE
8 THUMB
SCREWS
(4 ABOVE
AND 4
BELOW)
SO THAT
THE
WEIGH
PLATE IS
SUPPORTED
ABOVE
THE
BASE.
THE LOAD
CELL
SHOULD
NOT
TOUCH
ANY PART
OF THE
BASE.
LEAVE
THE LOAD
CELL
ATTACHED
TO THE
WEIGH
PLATE.
|
|
8. |
Once the
load
cell and
weigh
plate
are
secured,
replace
cover
and
remove
Reliadens
from
mounting.
(Disconnect
2
solenoid
connectors
and load
cell
wire.)
|
|
9. |
If
possible
take
Reliadens
to clean
work
area for
remaining
service.
It is
easiest
to work
on if
placed
on a
large
bench or
table.
|
|
10. |
Once in
work
area
remove
cover
and
scraper
hood
with
5/16"
nut
driver.
|
|
11. |
Using a
phillips
screwdriver,
remove
the two
machine
screws
that
attach
the
Pneuturn
unit and
spacer
to the
weigh
plate.
Note:
It may
be
necessary
to
remove
the red
plug in
the base
to allow
for easy
access.
If plug
is
removed,
replace
it when
reassembling
the
unit.
Use
silicone
to hold
it in
place.
|
|
12. |
Using a
9/16"
wrench
or
socket,
remove
the 2
bolts
that
hold the
bearing
mount in
place.
|
|
13. |
Note:
This
next
procedure
is
easiest
with 2
people.
|
|
14. |
Support
both
ends of
the
cylinder
assembly.
Using a
small
torch,
gently
heat the
shaft
and cup
collar
area
around
the
shaft.
DO NOT
MAKE THE
AREA RED
HOT !
Attempt
to keep
cup as
cool as
possible
The heat
helps
loosen
the
adhesive
which
holds
the cup
on the
shaft.
Quickly
tap the
pin out
of the
cup
collar
and air
cylinder
shaft.
This may
require
a mild
amount
of
force.
If pin
does not
want to
come
out,
continue
to heat
the
area.
|
|
15. |
Take the
Pneuturn
and
cylinder
and lay
them
flat on
the
bench.
Gently
tap out
pin that
connects
the
cylinder
to the
shaft
connector.
DO NOT
USE HEAT
ON THIS
PIECE!
Unscrew
the
cylinder
from the
shaft
connector.
|
|
16. |
Remove
brass
nose
piece
and
bearing
from old
cylinder
and
install
them on
new one.
Always
use
Loctite
#242
(Service
Removable)
on
fasteners.
Tap the
bearing
off the
old
cylinder
and on
to new
one with
a
non-metallic
hammer.
|
|
17. |
Thread
new
cylinder
into
shaft
connector.
Screw in
all the
way.
|
|
18. |
Place
cup on
new
cylinder
shaft
for
alignment
purposes.
|
|
19. |
When
Pneuturn
is
rotated
fully
clockwise
(viewing
from in
front of
the cup)
the cup
should
be
upside
down. It
sometimes
helps to
place a
piece of
tape
between
cylinder
and
shaft
connector
so that
the
cylinder
does
rotate
inside
the
shaft
connector
during
this
test.
|
|
20. |
Once
proper
rotation
is
confirmed
drill
out the
shaft
connector
hole
with a
3/16"
bit.
|
|
21. |
Remove
cup from
shaft
and
install
cylinder
assembly
in base.
|
|
22. |
Apply
Loctite
#609 to
coupling
on cup.
Re-install
cup to
shaft
making
sure it
is
installed
properly.
Check
rotation
and air
cylinder
clearance.
|
|
23. |
Drill
3/16"
hole in
the
shaft
and
install
Stainless
Steel "Groov-Pin"
with
Loctite
#609.
|
|
24. |
Replace
2
Pneuturn
machine
screw
using
Loctite
#242 and
do the
same
with the
2 bolts
for the
bearing
mount.
Again
check
alignment
and
proper
rotation.
Remember
the cup
should
be
upside
down
when
rotated
fully
clockwise,
and
right
side up
when
rotated
fully
counter
clockwise.
|
|
25. |
Replace
cover
and
scraper
hood.
|
|
26. |
Re-install
sampler
in
plant.
|
|
27. |
Remove
cover.
|
|
28. |
Replace
lower
load
cell
spacer
and 2
bolts. (Loctite
#242 on
bolts)
Check
proper
alignment
and
TORQUE
TO 150
INCH
POUNDS.
|
|
29. |
Re-attach
air
supply
and turn
power
"on."
|
|
30. |
Check
for
proper
mechanical
action.
Replace
hood. |
