program.

If you
have
lost
your
copy,
another
is
enclosed. |
NOTE: If
you have changed
your calibration
constant from
the original one
in your program,
you may need to
make a note of
that value so
you can put it
in your new
program.
Follow these
steps to load
your new
program:

1. |
Open the
controller
enclosure
and
locate
the COM2
port on
the back
of the
controller.
|
|
2. |
Insert
your
NULL
MODEM
cable
into the
COM2
port.
Connect
the
other
end of
the
cable to
your PC
serial
port.
|
|
3. |
Start
your PC
in the
DOS
MODE.
|
|
4. |
Insert
the
Application
Builder
disk in
you PC.
|
|
5. |
To start
the
program,
type
"BUILD"
at the
"A"
prompt
when "A"
is your
3 1/2"
floppy
drive.
If you
are
having
problems
with
your
controller,
this is
where
you will
need to
"Reset
the
series
1000".
This
option
is under
the
UTILITY
section
of your
program.
After
you have
reset
the
controller,
continue
with
step #7.

Remove
the
Application
Builder
disk
from the
"A"
drive
and
insert
you III
Sigma 3
1/2"
program
disk
into
your
computer.

Locate
the new
III
Sigma
program
on drive
"A",
when "A"
is your
3 1/2"
floppy
drive.
|
|
8. |
To
located
drive
"A",
press
"ESC"
and move
over to
the FILE
column
by using
the
arrow
keys.
|
|
9. |
When you
have
highlighted
the FILE
use the
arrow
keys and
move to
the OPEN
choice
in the
column
and
press
ENTER.
|

10. |
Using
the TAB
key, go
over and
highlight
drive
"A"
(when
Drive
"A" is
your 3
1/2"
floppy
drive).
|
|
11. |
Press
ENTER.
After
the PC
displays
the
files on
your
floppy,
TAB over
to your
new
program
and once
you have
highlighted
it,
press
ENTER.
|
|
12. |
When the
new
program
code is
displayed
on your
PC,
press
ESC.
|
|
13. |
Using
the
arrow
keys,
highlight
the
TRANSFER
column
and then
move
down to
the
DOWNLOAD
DISK
FILE
section
and
press
ENTER.

Press
TAB key
to
highlight
your
program
and then
press
ENTER. |
NOTE: If you
have any
"communications
failed" messages
that come up at
this point,
check the
following items:
|
1. |
Make
sure
that
both
ends of
the
communications
cable
are
firmly
attached.
|
|
2. |
Make
sure the
power is
"on" for
both the
pc and
the
controller.
|
|
3. |
If #1
and #2
do not
work,
press
F8. This
will
"re-generate
the
basic
code"
for your
controller.
|
|
4. |
Finally,
you can
check
your
communications
settings
and make
sure
that you
are
using
the
correct
COM port
on your
pc and
that it
is set
to send
the file
to the
COM2
port on
your
controller.

After
transfer
is
complete,
disconnect
the
cable
from the
COM2
port and
close
the
controller
enclosure.
|

2. |
To exit
from
Application
Builder
program,
press
ESC and
highlight
the MODE
column.
|
|
3. |
Use
arrow
keys to
move to
the QUIT
choice
and
press
ENTER.
|
|
4. |
At the
"A"
prompt
type
"EXIT"
and
press
ENTER to
exit DOS
and
return
to
Windows.
|
|
5. |
Press
the F1
(RUN)
key on
the
front of
your
controller.
|
|
6. |
The
program
should
start
and run
successfully.
|
|
7. |
If
program
does not
function
properly,
check
all
cable
connections.
|
|
8. |
If
problem
persists,
repeat
the
program
installation
steps. |
